I think it really depends on the top coat, regarding the smudging. I think the thinner top coats may get a little runny and smudge the lines, especially if you are painting black lines on top of white or red lines on top of white. I found that OPI top coat is the best because it is really thick. But the only downside to that is that it takes longer to dry than the thinner top coats, but it has never smudged on me, so I think it’s worth the extra waiting!
